Thurston CE Primary Academy is a Christian school based just outside Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk. Having recently relocated to a new building, the school now has doubled the capacity for students of primary school age.
With a new building and academy status, the school needed a web presence that would reflect their vibrant learning environment. They were keen to foster stronger connections not only between students and parents, but with the wider community.
The new website needed to be not only visually appealing but also intuitive and resourceful for all users. It had to contain comprehensive information about the school and provide up-to-date news about the school and their events.
User Experience
The website was designed to prioritise ease of navigation, ensuring that parents could quickly access essential information. For example, term dates, school newsletters, useful links and contact details needed to be readily available. And for children, they needed to be able to explore learning resources and school blog updates with ease.
One of the key features of the website is the News & Events calendar. It was designed to be easy to use for both parents and pupils and to keep the school community informed and engaged.
To ensure the school’s brand was adhered to, we built a custom WordPress theme for this website. The theme provides a seamless and responsive user experience for desktop, tablet and mobile phone users.
