Based in Southampton, Marine Matters offer a high-end luxury Rigid Inflatable Boat (RIB) sales service. They research the best brands around the world and custom build boats to order for their customers. They also offer full outboard servicing and repairs and organise events throughout the year for their RIB Owners Club.

They had been posting content on Facebook but were struggling to come up with fresh content on an ongoing basis. So they got in touch with us to see how we could help.

We started with a lengthy discovery session to learn the ins and outs of the business. It was important to understand the services offered by Marine Matters so we could paint a picture of their customers. We also needed to establish a tone of voice and fully understand the brand so we could align the content.

Content Strategy

To ensure that we created an even variety of posts, we set content category and created branded artwork templates. We then set rules for how often and on what social media platforms we would post content.

With our new in-depth knowledge of the business, we built a schedule and set about creating content. We arranged monthly social check-ins where we would review how the content was performing. It was also an opportunity to keep up to date with events and identify any new sources of content.

We researched lots of hashtags and grouped them so we could maximise exposure by placing them in the correct posts. Tagging suppliers and complimentary businesses is also important, so we researched these and made sure they were readily available.

Facebook Advertising

The clients agreed that Facebook would be our ‘hero’ platform that would yield the best results from paid advertising. So, we agreed a monthly budget and set about creating different audiences for different ad campaigns.

As part of our monthly content scheduling, we also set schedules for the ad campaigns. Then, using Facebook Ad Manager, we set up the campaigns to ensure the best coverage.

Video Creation

To increase engagement within our content strategy we agreed that we would create ongoing video content. Much of the footage for the video content was to be supplied by Marine Matters. However, we also agreed to travel down to Southampton to shoot video whenever necessary.

Marine Matters arrange many events throughout the year for their RIB Owners Club that they organise. These events are perfect for video, generating lots of interest and selling the lifestyle that Marine Matters offer.
