Keith Chandler’s experience in the construction industry spans over four decades! If there’s something he doesn’t know, then it’s probably not worth knowing. He is a seasoned building surveyor and structural engineer offering architectural design, planning application and building regulations services.

Keith contacted us to see if we could help to make his website more visible on search engines. He asked if we could audit his existing website and come up with an SEO plan of action.

The Plan

Having reviewed his existing site and content we suggested a whole restructure of the website to include new content. But first, we would need to do a little research to help us decide what content we should add.

Keyword Research

Following an in-depth conversation with Keith about his services we set about carrying out some keyword research. We created an Excel file and filled it with every possible keyword we could think of relating to Keith’s services. Using three different sources, we then found the keyword search volumes for all keywords and related keywords. Next, we filtered the keywords by relevance, difficulty and volume to create a keyword strategy.

Learning what keywords potential customers are more likely to type into search engines, gives us a huge advantage.

Copywriting & Copy Editing

Writing the copy for websites can often be huge bump in the road when it comes to building a website. Luckily for us, Keith wasn’t too upset when we suggested that we re-write his content that he had supplied. We also helped him out with some of the new service pages that we added by writing them from scratch.

Website Design & Build

Armed with well written copy and a keyword strategy meant that we could press ahead with the website build. We provided a flat design which promptly approved. We also chose a new colour scheme and created a series of icons to represent his services. Keith had provided us with plenty of images which we optimised, whilst making the occasional tweak here and there.

We then built a brand-new website in WordPress and poured all of our SEO and web design knowledge into it. To host the site, we used our fast and reliable web hosting service, with its in-built speed and security features.
